The instrument is connected to a PC running software to enable programming and scheduling and have been used extensively for (though not limited to) cell-based screening (cell plating, transfection, fixation and staining), including siRNA screens and for cell-free screening with small molecule libraries, in both 96-well and 384-well format.Īll the units are in good used cosmetic condition but they all have various marks and signs of normal general use. The FXp requires tips purchased from Biomek for accurate pipetting. It was linked to a Pherastar plate reader but this is not included as the university retained it. The FXp has a 96-well pipetting head and also a Span-8 for cherry picking as well as carousel to allow storage of plates/tips/reagents etc, it is also equipped with a barcode scanner.
